2015 Bike Ride

On the 6th June 2015 around 80 riders gathered at the Old Yardleians Rugby Club in Shirley ready to set off on one of the various Charity Bike Ride routes.Lorna

We were once again lucky with the weather and had a sunny and dry day which helped everyone achieve their goals!

Below are a few photos of the many families who undertook the 12 mile ride right through to the many cycle club riders who joined us for the first time to complete the 52 mile ride.

“Just to let you know that we thought the ride was great today. Signage was clear and regular and the 52 mile course was really very picturesque, and the course planner managed to keep us away from traffic for the vast majority of the ride. Not and insignificant feat in that area on a Saturday morning!” Dane Carty

“We would just like to thank you for such a well organised and great signposted route, the other week. We all had a great day and ride with a couple of us completing 85 miles!” Phil Hall, Jaguar Cycling Club.

The event raised around £6000. This is an amazing amount and will help us feed the 940 children at Brainhouse for around six months.

The impact that we wish to have when we raise money through the charity bike ride was summed up beautifully by John Ablett;

“Education and the opportunities it brings offers the children a chance of making a positive impact upon their future aspirations and outcomes for when they become future adult world citizens. One day perhaps one of these children might become a doctor or a teacher thanks to your support in their early life”.

Not a bad outcome for a fun day out!!
