Huge thanks to Oliver James for raising over £555 for ACEF by running the Paris marathon.
Oliver has an impressive record for raising money for charity – quite inspirational; and we want to thank him very much for choosing to support the boys and girls at Brainhouse!
The race from Champs-Elysées through Paris, looping along the Seine and taking runners past all the classic Parisian sights, is one of the most beautiful runs. Oliver was part of a packed field, with nearly 40,000 starters! This was ten thousand more than in 2013 and the runners found themselves battling the unexpected hot weather as well as the miles!
Nonetheless Oliver made it around the 42.2 km in one piece, proudly running 03:38:06; a personal best by more than a minute. Well done Oliver!
