The Learning Bag campaign really inspired Camilla Parker to spread the word and get donations of resources from a wide range of places. URENCO, an energy company, provided 1000 “Learn with Richie” bags, which included a pencil case of useful items plus notepad, enough for every child at Brainhouse.
Chris Lloyd from What On Earth? Books also donated Pocket Wallbooks and Margaret Huckstep funded two of the amazing 3m posters on History and Science. These learning resources fit masses of pertinent facts into the smallest space – perfect for the limited space available in Nairobi.
These resources can now form the foundation for a learning bag for each child at Brainhouse Academy. What we really need now is to raise the funds for the textbooks which we will purchase in Kenya and which support the National Curriculum there. Could you help us to fund these? £30 could fund a complete set of textbooks for an exam year student. What a gift this would be. Not only would it change the prospects of that student for a year, but the books will be reused for many successive years to come! See below ways to donate now!
